“Although Van Sickle loves the songs that she sings, she said her absolute favorite song in the show is Camat’s “King of the World,” noting that “it has a really complex beat and movement, and the lyrics are some of the best in the show.”

She added, ‘Kimo brings a lot of care to that song, as it is from the perspective of a man who had everything and lost it all and is in prison. It is heartbreaking and yet somehow full of hope.’”

Preview of Songs For a New World - Kimo as Man 1

“The New World” performed at Corkscrew Wine Bar

Excerpt of Kimo rehearsing Flying Home from Songs For a New World

“All the versions I’ve seen of this play, my favorites have always been the Greek Chorus, the urchins, in this case,Fleming, Robinson and Spohn, who are a smash.  And the two leads, Hays and Peterson, are in terrific form, especially with the show-stopping, “Suddenly, Seymour.”  And the outrageous character of Orin (Fuentes) is over the top as the maniacal dentist.  And Camat as the voice of the plant gives just the right creepiness to the role…”

Broadway Rose Theater’s promo video of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown - Kimo Camat starring as Snoopy

“How does the acting world deal with Snoopy? Kimo Camat has it covered–an incredible dog with an incredible voice and great comic timing!”

-Judy Nerdy Play Reviews

“Each cast member creates a thoroughly memorable character, but there are a few real standout moments.  First among equals is Kimo Camat’s “Snoopy” – he commits 100% to his canine identity, with all of the shaking, wiggling, howling, scratching, yawning physical comedy you could want from America’s favorite (if slightly delusional) beagle.  His vocals are flawless, but his pièce de résistance is the increasingly frenetic choreography (with “Sally”) of “Rabbit Chasing.”

Kimo Camat as Tunny in American Idiot at Triangle Productions!

*Kimo won a PAMTA for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Tunny*

“Strengths: The music: simple melodies and straightforward imagery. If you see the show, don't listen to the albums beforehand, and you'll be surprised at just how many tracks you remember.

Vocally, Kimo Camat as Johnny's buddy Tunny, pours life into "Are We the Waiting" and Lauren Steele takes "21 Guns" to such fresh sonic heights…”

-Oregon Live

“Cole, Crystal and Camat, as the masters of ceremony for these proceedings, are all at the top of their game.  They, and the rest of the cast, have powerful voices that can barely be contained within these fragile walls.”
